Design Twists - Bias Jacket

$12.00

A free flowing, raglan sleeved jacket. All pieces are cut on the bias. Two options for construction - Serger or French seams and three choices for finishing - frayed edge, bias ruffle edge or rolled hem. This jacket will sew together in just a few hours!

Supplies:
45” wide fabric = 3 yds for all sizes
     58” - 60” wide fabric = 1 ½ yds for small and medium
     58” - 60” 2 ½ yd for large and X large
½ yds more yardage for bias frayed edge or gathered ruffle
     Thread to match
Optional trim or cord for edge 5 - 6 yds.

This pattern works well with SOFT fabrics such as chiffon, crepe, rayon or lightweight fabrics such as batiste. Knit fabrics are not recommended for a bias cut. Knit fabric should be cut on the regular straight grain line. Avoid plaids, strips and border prints. Pre-shrink all fabrics and trims beforehand for best results. Use cotton or rayon thread in the construction if you plan to dye or color your jacket. Polyester thread will remain the original color.
