Tip for working with slinky fabrics -
Using a walking foot is a must - (this suggestion came from Emma Seabrook)
I find that placing the seams together and pinning them parallel with the raw edge but about 1” inside
the seam gives me more control. I do this even before I baste. (This is also helpful in working with bias seams).
TIPS FOR FORMAL WEAR:
When my daughter got married she had trouble with the back of her bra showing above the dress. I attached covered boning to the lining just below the top in 2 places at the back of the dress (I tacked it at the top and bottom of the boning). She slipped her strapless bra in the loops, put on the dress and the bra stayed in place! I attached a picture of the inside of the dress.
